Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using doc0 (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use doc0 on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.

2. The Service

doc0 connects to your GitHub repositories and generates a documentation wiki and a code knowledge graph from them. The Service includes hosted documentation sites, AI chat, an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for AI coding tools, automatic updates when you push code, and optional integrations such as Slack and Linear on eligible plans. Features vary by plan as described on our pricing page.

3. Accounts, Keys & Access

You authenticate via GitHub. You are responsible for the security of your GitHub account, your doc0 API and MCP keys, and all activity under them. Keep keys secret; rotate or revoke them from your settings if you suspect exposure. You are responsible for ensuring you are authorized to connect any repository you connect.

4. Your Content & Ownership

You retain all rights to your source code. You also own the documentation doc0 generates from it, including any edits you make. You can edit, export, and delete your documentation at any time.

You grant doc0 a limited license to access, clone, and analyze your repository content solely to provide the Service. We do not keep a copy of your repository; what we persist (including the indexed chunks of code that power search and chat) is described in the Privacy Policy. This license ends when you delete the project or your account.

5. Publication & Visibility

You control whether each documentation mode of a project is public or private, within the private-project allowance of your plan. Public projects may be featured in our public gallery; you can request removal at any time.

6. Plans, Usage Limits & Fair Use

Each plan includes usage allowances: a monthly documentation allowance measured in lines of code, automatic updates per day, private projects, and chat usage. We also apply rate limits to keep the Service reliable for everyone. We may enforce fair-use measures if usage patterns abuse allowances or degrade the Service, and we will contact you first where reasonable.

7. Subscription & Billing

Every plan is a paid subscription, billed through our payment partner, which processes your payment details; we never see your card number. Pro and Team start with a 3-day trial: payment details are collected at checkout, nothing is charged until the trial ends, and cancelling before then costs nothing. A workspace that has subscribed before is not offered a second trial. Enterprise plans are agreed individually. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancelling stops future renewals and your plan remains active until the end of the paid period. Prices are listed on our pricing page and may change with 30 days' notice; existing subscribers continue at their current rate for at least 12 months from the date of any price change. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis - write to us.

Each plan includes a monthly documentation allowance measured in lines of code, shown on the pricing page and in your billing settings. Generating a wiki uses lines equal to the countable source code in your repository, plus a small share for the user guide; vendored and generated files are excluded and never use your allowance, and test files are excluded unless your project is configured to include them. Automatic updates use lines based on the size of the change, with a small minimum per update, and each project has a daily automatic-update limit. Runs that fail are refunded to your allowance automatically. When your allowance is used up, new generations and updates wait until your billing period resets. Allowances may change with the same notice as prices.

8. AI-Generated Content

doc0's documentation, chat answers, and graph analyses are produced by AI models. By using the Service you acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content can contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations of your code, even when it cites sources.
• You are responsible for reviewing and verifying generated content before relying on it in production or for important decisions. Citations exist so you can check.
• Generated content is not professional, legal, or security advice.

doc0 is not liable for errors in AI-generated content.

9. Integrations & Third Parties

The Service depends on third-party services (GitHub for repository access, and optional integrations such as Slack and Linear). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for outages, API changes, or failures of third-party services beyond our control, and we share data with them only as needed to operate the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Connect repositories you do not own or are not authorized to access
• Attempt to breach, probe, or circumvent the Service's security, rate limits, or plan allowances
• Abuse or disrupt the Service, our networks, or other users' projects
• Use the Service to process or publish unlawful, infringing, or malicious content
• Resell or white-label the Service without our written agreement
• Use the Service in violation of applicable law

11. Teams

On the Team plan, the workspace owner manages members and billing and is responsible for members' compliance with these terms. Members may access the workspace's projects, documentation, and integrations. When a member is removed, their access ends; content generated for the workspace stays with the workspace.

12. Availability

We work to keep doc0 fast and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, and generation times vary with load and repository size. We may change or retire features; if a change materially reduces what your paid plan includes, we will notify you in advance.

13. doc0's Property

The Service itself - our software, design, brand, and infrastructure - belongs to doc0 and its licensors. You may not copy, decompile, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service, except where law permits. This does not limit your ownership of your code and your generated documentation (§4).

14. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from account settings, which removes your profile and associated projects, wikis, and conversations. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms; where practical we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your data.

15. Warranties & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, doc0 shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. To the same extent, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notification before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
